SKILLS & CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Our organisation has recently enhanced its programmes to better meet the evolving needs of the young people we serve.
While our literacy and education initiatives remain central, we have now expanded our focus to include skills and career development, addressing a critical gap for school leavers who often lack career guidance and essential soft skills.
We recognised that our earlier programming focused primarily on early childhood literacy but did not adequately prepare young people for life beyond reading and writing. In response, we are now actively equipping youth with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to thrive in the job market and entrepreneurial spaces.
Through this programme, participants are already benefiting from career guidance, mentor matching, digital literacy, financial literacy, public speaking, photography, work etiquette, scholarship application support, and much more.
The doormat-making project
The doormat-making project is part of our weekly arts and crafts sessions. These activities are designed to introduce children to entrepreneurship and key soft skills such as creativity, responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving. By engaging in practical, hands-on experiences, we aim to nurture a mindset of innovation and self-reliance in every child.
