Collaborations

Communications Training

Our library was one of the beneficiaries and facilitators of a two-day communications training organised by the Consortium for Sustainable Development, a civil society organisation dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness and resilience of nonprofit organisations in Zambia through capacity building and innovative fundraising. Our library is a member of the Consortium for Sustainable Development.

Collaborating for Impact: Our Library and the Indigenous Games Initiative

Our library was proud to be one of the eight organisations that came together to form the Consortium for Sustainable Development (CSD), a powerful network united by a shared commitment to community-centred research and development. One of our most significant collaborative efforts was a groundbreaking research project on Indigenous games, carried out across multiple provinces in Zambia.

This project was a true team effort. Each member of the consortium, including our library, contributed unique regional insights and expertise to ensure a rich, inclusive understanding of Indigenous games. In March 2024, the consortium secured $60,000 in funding from the Global Fund for Children (GFC) to explore how these traditional games could be integrated into educational settings. Together, we co-developed what would become the Indigenous Games Toolkit, with activities ranging from data collection and documentation to educator training and school-based implementation.

Further funding of $14,500 was later obtained to deepen community engagement, carry out monitoring and evaluation, and refine the toolkit using feedback from the field. Every stage of this initiative reflected the collaborative spirit of the consortium, an effort powered by shared resources, collective knowledge, and a unified goal of promoting sustainable, culturally grounded education.

World Oral Health Day

To kick-start our Health and Wellness Program this year, we partnered with Dazzling Dental Clinic and Medicare on World Oral Health Day (20-03-2025) to spread awareness about the importance of oral hygiene. Oral diseases affect over 3.5 million people worldwide, with serious consequences for overall health. Our library remains committed to ensuring that children and young people have access to health resources for their general well-being.

Our children received oral hygiene kits and resources to take home. Thank you, Dazzling Dental Clinic and Medicare, for your support and commitment to ensuring zero cavities for every child.

Play-Based-Learning Training for Educators

Our library was proud to be part of the organising committee for a dynamic one-week play-based training. This event was made possible through the support of the Global Fund for Children (GFC) and was expertly facilitated by Play Action International.

The training brought together diverse GFCs PEAK initiative partners and created a vibrant space for knowledge-sharing across different contexts. Our library, as part of the organizing team, helped shape this learning experience, ensuring it reflected the values of collaboration and inclusivity that define our work.

The training deepened connections among member organisations and strengthened our collective capacity to apply playful, child-centred approaches in our programming. We are excited to implement the insights gained across our work.
