Natubelenge Children's Library

Empowering communities to achieve sustainable growth and improved quality of life.

Our Story

Natubelenge Children’s Library was born out of pure love for children and a desire to improve the quality of their lives. It is a community-centred non-profit organisation founded in 2015 by two friends, Nachizo and Mainess. It began as an open-air library under a mango tree in the backyard and later evolved into a physical library with walls, after the founders recognised the high levels of illiteracy, the lack of access to educational resources, and the limited capacity-building opportunities available to children and young people in their community.

Meet The Team

At Natubelenge Children’s Library, our team is a vibrant and dedicated collective of educators, librarians, consultants, volunteers, and communications professionals.  Our diverse backgrounds come together through a shared passion for children, young people, and lifelong learning. Each team member contributes unique value, whether through teaching experience, deep community knowledge, storytelling ability, or essential behind-the-scenes coordination. It’s this blend of perspectives and strengths that allows us to create a library that is not only a space for reading but a place where children feel seen, supported, and inspired. We learn from one another and continually grow as a team, always keeping the children and communities we serve at the heart of everything we do.
